I think Martin's idea is interesting, we should investigate further.

How should we proceed?

A few comments on comments on other messages:

1) explaining people how to use them is a not a problem, you always have to
document processes

2) the diff idea would work well with the symbolink link approach

3) the bandwidth problem is still a problem for at least the 80% of the
users. Not all users live in Western Europe. In many places in Africa for
example the connection speed is < 10k. Even in Western Europe, many places
are not covered by high speed connection. I live in UK, but the best speed
we can get at our house is 28k (twenty-eight!!!), whilst at the office we
have 5Mb.

4) the approach of having a specific extension that allow to handle diff
patches graphically could be an interesting approach

Best,

Corrado
