[TYPO3] Image Frames for css-styled content (cron_csc_imgframes) -Problem

Eventually I found the solution. To facilitate custom frames, in quality
settings - do not use standard or do not change. Use for instance jpeg high,
medium or low. Then it works fine.

I am trying to implement the use of frames delivered from this extension.
The ext installed and configured easily until I saw the pictures in the
front end. Color pics were converted to grayscale and heavily distorted. 
So something must be wrong somewhere. 

Any Ideas how to fix this will be highly appreciated.
