[TYPO3] frames + templavola

Hello,

Has anybody used templavoila with frames (I know frames are deprecated)?

I want a layout that is divided vertically. On the left is the menu 
(first and second levels) and on the right is the content panel.

I want to right panel to scroll vertically while the left panel remains 
in place (and the menus remain visible)

Is this possible with templavoila?
Is there an alternative way without frames?
