[TYPO3] Default start page

Hi there

I ahve had arequest form a client.

Basically they have a news editor, who only has access to one folder, the
news folder, to which they add new categories and news items

What they would like, is to have the news editor (and any other editors),
and be shown the add news form, without having to click on list > news
folder > add new news item

Is it possible for a user to specify the default view/page  they are on at
login?
