[TYPO3] strange file upload problem from within t3 - win/iis/php5.2

Hi all,

I'm setting up Typo3 on an IIS5, with php5.2 and MySQL 5. Some would say 
oh-no-no to that combination, but that's my clients platform 
unfortunately. However, I got most things working after a lot of 
googleing. The problem I'm experiencing now is that The upload file 
function for new extension directly looses the server connection 
(instantly) when trying to upload a new t3x. BUT file upload at 
filelist->file upload form seems to be working just fine.

Anyone having a clue to what may cause this problem? or what the 
diffences are between the two forms?
I tried to find what's causing the error but couldn't locate it. Seems 
to drop out before em -> main() is reached.. :(
