[TYPO3] New 404 page on multilingual sites

Is there already any solution for using the new type of "404 Page Not
Found" handling on multilingual sites (one tree)?

The handling (http://news.typo3.org/news/article/typo3-4-0-1-404/) works
fine but it returns 404 page only in default language which means that
it's a bit useless (if not confusing) in other languages of a website.

The problem has been already mentioned in this list two months ago
(23/8/2006 by François Suter) so I am just checking if there's any
solution already.
