[TYPO3] Extending contact form

Is there a way to extend the contact form in Typo3 so that users can
select from a dropdown of contacts?

Ex:

Your name
Your email
Your message

[Dropdown list of departments to receive emails]

Send

Do I have to step this up to a php script?
