[TYPO3] search for large sites

Do you allow searches for parts of word? Does it make a difference if 
you do "word contains X" or "word is X" searches?

Did you try to remove all the "garbage" entries in the search index 
tables? I mean they contain strings with the length one and two which is 
practically useless and only wastes space (and therefor time).

But to answer your question, I think that all of those who faced such an 
indexed search problem did either use another search or put much effort 
into enhancing the search. Both groups don't seem to be willing to share 
the outcome.
