and I have a problem with rtehtmlarea which matches:

some editors just use rtehtmlarea (actual: 1.3.7, but could be updated).
they ONLY use rtehtmlarea.

the requested action is:
insert images floating left/right. (no problem)
and give these images a caption.

switching to plain-mode it's possible for me to change the <img>-tag into a
<div><img/> text</div> with the floating in the div. 
But without HTML-knowledge it's difficult. And the editors don't have this
knowledge.


What is the correct[*] way to extend the popup-window (image-properties)
with an additional inputfield for the caption and changing the javascript
to create the needed code?

changing the code of rtehtmlarea may be easy, but what about updates? 
and it doesn't seem possible (to me) to xclass this extension.
