[TYPO3] Has anybody else integrated a second database withTYPO3?

Hallo Daniel,
look at the dbal extension. I think you can connect other datasources 
and map them to typo3 fields. for example typo3 uses uid your 
otherdatabase uses id, so you can map this.

dbal is a core extension.
