[TYPO3] horizontal menu

thanks for the reply.
I'm using the template that comes with html/css styling just to test, so all 
i've done is add a div to see if i can insert the menu.
The problem is the menu is in the html code, just not rendering.

At the moment the template i think is more like broth than soup...ahem!!
