[TYPO3] Typo and AWStats Log Archiving

I have been running AWStats for a few months now. My log file is now at 125
megs. 

My question is: 

Is there something I need to to do archive logs so that they do not become
extremely large?

If so, what is it that I have to do and also what do I do to make sure that
Awstats does not miss any of the traffic when reading the logs?
