[TYPO3] Anything like: global site's last update time?

Hi,

What is the best way to get something like a global site's last update  
time?
I mean I would like to get the most recent update time of all pages in  
pagetree (including all records these pages include).
Is there any 'out-of-the-box' solution I could use in my extension or  
should I write some query?
