[TYPO3] Substitution of marks

Hi,

I'm playing around with timtab & tt_news & ve_guestbook.  The 
extensions are working, so now I try to work on the template.

All three are using template files with subparts and marks.  I'm 
wondering, where the text is defined, which substitutes these 
marks.  I can't find anything, but I would like to change some of 
them via TS.
