Hi Christopher and Joey,

I feel a bit ashamed that the FIR concept comletely escaped me while it
seems to be spreading rapidly on the web.
Thanks a LOT for filling me in about that - this solution is definitely much
superior to mine.
And thanks Christopher for your most comprehensive Wiki article. It will
heavily speed up my conversion process to this technique.
Joey, I will have a look into the ObTS Extension very soon.

I feel urged to say that again and again I am baffled by the level and
quality of the feedback in this community.
How come that it is so much more elaborate compared to other communities?
Most impressive!

Thanks again!

I've done it. For a fairly complete tutorial on how to build FIR
headers using TS and a short userfunc, see
http://wiki.typo3.org/index.php/GIFBUILDER_FIR_IMAGES.

It's basically just commented code, but I think it's clear enough that
anybody reasonably experienced with TS should be able to follow it.
Again, if somebody would like to make an extension out of it, please
do so!
