[TYPO3] Setting page title from frontend plugin ($GLOBALS['TSFE']->page['title'] has no effect)

Hi,

i have written a plugin that should set the title of the page. Using a plain 
installation everything works well. But in another installation setting of 
the title has no effect. It is properly set in the 
$GLOBALS['TSFE']->page['title'] but never occurs within the <title />.

I think that rlmp_tmplselector could be the reason for the issue but have not 
really a way to prove that. Does anybody had this issue before or a solution?
