[TYPO3] phpmyadmin forbidden access

I am using:
typo3 v4beta3
php 5.1.2
mysql 4.1.1
fedora 4

This is a new installation of typo3 4beta3
I have also made sure the permissions as correct for
the phpmyadmin folder in question - chmod 777 but that
still does not work
