thank you for your tip with the tca.php, but unfortunately I've got no admin rights on the Typo3 configuration or the file system of the server. I will ask the admin.

are you sure, that's a good idea?
I think, there should be an option to change this in the configuration of pbsurvey.
If you have to setup or change large surveys with a lot of answers, this makes it really labour-intensive.
