[TYPO3] Blank screen after starting new Typo3 4.0 website

Hello..

 

I am trying to get Typo3 started on a RHEL-server. I believe everything is
installed correctly. 

phpMyAdmin works fine and gives access to MySQL. 

 

Starting Typo3 gives a blank screen. For a split second a Typo3 screen is
visible stating "No database selected", which is as it should be, but
unfortunately the 1-2-3 tool does not start thereafter.

 

I have been looking around for a couple of days to find a way to solve this,
but have to give up. Hopefully someone can give me a clue.
