[TYPO3] langauge / iso settings in backend

hi group,

how can i change the iso coding of the backend for a specific user?

i have got a site with multiple trees for multiples languages, so i need 
to differ from the user. the frontend selection works, but in htmlarea 
and tv and so on the coding is not supported (see attached image).

the language for the user is set.
the interessting thing is, that the spanish and frensh version are 
working correctly. only the polish version is not displaying the correct 
characters (perhaps a missing polish package?)
