[TYPO3] Typo3 4.0?

Well I meant 3.0 version as a whole, but more specifically 3.8 :P :).

My main concern is that upgrading might result in breaking my design or 
structure, giving me headaches, or having to spend hours to redo 
everything to comply to the new version.

Will this be necessary?
