[TYPO3] Save record custom function

Hi

I want to create a custom function that I would like to call when I save the record on a page.

By default the Save button adds the content into the database table. I want to do more and to execute an extra function whenever I click on the Save (or save and close) button.

Eg: I created a table that contains a date and a pdf file (reference), and I want to convert the pdf into a jpeg when I save the record.
