[TYPO3] Pagetree filter

Hey All,

is there a way the filter the page tree.
Why:
1) because I am in Ecuadore and hour server is in texas and hour 
connection to Texas is kinda slow.
2) I want to see a filter that filters all pages on some rules.

How:
Above the pagetree (second frame) I would love to see a couple of quick 
folter options
to find pages etc.
For example: Filter all pages that are added in the last 2 days.
any my pagetree will show only these pages (with parent pages).

I am more than happy to make that as an extension and opensource it, but 
I need some hints and pointers,
Anybody?
