[TYPO3] Reuse images on different pages?

Thats the default behaviour of typo3, there where some discussions on  
changing that on typo3-dev, but as far as i know no real solution was  
found. At the moment you have to live with the fact that typo3 creates a  
copy of the image for every reference ... if you simply want to use files  
 from your upload dir you could add a filemount to your user or a symlink  
to the fileadmin directory..
