[TYPO3] Direct mail - plaintext emails

Hi

I have been working with the direct mail extension for some time now and 
it works fine with html mails. If test the plaintext email it is not 
getting rendered and all that appears in the mail is ###content###

Nothing is mentioned in the tutorials online.

I have added the plugin.alt.plaintext(99) to my template and in the 
Direct Mail Module config I have added &type=99 in the plain text 
parameters.

What am I missing?
