[TYPO3] An extra line is appended when header styles are used in 3.8.1

Hi,
  I upgraded from typo3 3.6 to typo3 3.8. In 3.8 all the styles look the same but wherever header styles like <h1> or <h2> etc.  are used the edit pencil appears in the next line unlike 3.6,  where it would appear in the same line at the end of the text.
  Due to this an extra line is appended to all the content elements whenerever the header style is used.
  Has anyone come across this problem. Can someone suggest a solution for this..
