[TYPO3] get rid of target attribute in typolink

Hi,

to gain xhtml-strict-compliance I want to get rid of the target 
attributes generated from typolinks out of (RTE) text elements.
I already configured
config.doctype = xhtml_strict
config.xhtml_cleaning = all

and tried
config.extTarget =
config.intTarget =
config.target =
as well but nothing works: <LINK> tags in the database always get 
rendered with the target attribute :'-((

Who could give me a hint please?! I'm using 4.0b3, if that's important.
