[TYPO3] excludeUidList Workaround

Hello-

I am using excludeUidList to prevent the display of certain pages in a 
menu. The thing is - excludeUidList is also preventing the display of 
all the pages "below" those in the tree! I don't want to do this.


Is there any way to hide a certain page in a menu WITHOUT affecting the 
display of any other page?

I understand the thinking of excludeUidList - why display children if 
you can't see the parent - but that is what I need to do in this situation.
