[TYPO3] using mail within news extension

Why not try tipafriend to create a link on your news landing page?  
Then in tipafriend add in some user data parsing.

On a different approach, I have news_leads which emails a consultancy  
when a front end user clicks on a news file. This isn't what you  
want, but should give you an idea besides news_userinfo to figure out  
creating your own tt_news extension using the API.
