[TYPO3] tt_news upgrade breaks marker substitution

I was upgrading my tt_news extension from tt_news 2.0.4 to 2.2.24 and 
everything seemed to be OK. (TYPO3 version 3.8.1) But then, I discovered 
that the substitution of the marker ###GW3B### and ###GW3E### in the 
template is not working as before the upgrading.

Before the upgrade ###GW3B### was substituted with <font face="verdana" 
size="1" color="black"><strong>
but after the upgrade ###GW3B### was substituted with <dd>

And it does not matter if I change the value in plugin.tt_news.wrap3 - 
###GW3B### always comes out as <dd>.

However the marker ###GW2B### seems to work fine after upgrading tt_news. 
Apparently, the problem seems to be only with the markersubstitution of 
###GW3B### after upgrading tt_news. At least I have not discovered any other 
difference before and after the upgrade.

Is it someone who have an idea what the problem could be ? Of course I could 
put the font parameters directly into the template, but it would be nice to 
know what went wrong in the upgrading of tt_news.
