[TYPO3] get (menu)level of current site

Hi,

is it possible to get the level of the current site?
I want to render a hmenu only if the level of the site is x. Like 
.entryLevel, but I want to use ist with special.rootline, where 
entryLevel is not allowed. So i hope I can get the current level and use 
the information with a condition to let the menu disappear.

Actually, I want the "diving"-menu from
http://www.wunderkessel.de/fileadmin/downloads/menu.txt
to disappear when the current level is < x. (Because I want a normal 
tree-menu above)
