[TYPO3] images in BE FILELIST have no thumbnail, path issue?

I tried changing in localconf.php
$TYPO3_CONF_VARS['BE']['fileadminDir'] = "~camppath/fileadmin/"

but that just breaks the mount point, then i cant see any folders...
