[TYPO3] GMENU text wrap/append

Perhaps this would clarify what I'm trying to do -- is something like
this possible with TS?

10.text.field = title + "some string"

Or

10.text.field = title . "some string"

I am creating a breadcrumb menu with GMENU that I want to look like
this:

Home> Sub1> Sub2

I can't seem to figure out how to add in the > character. When using
TMENU it's easy with the linkWrap property. Is there a way this can be
done without grafting in another image (i.e. via text/typoscript)?
