[TYPO3] fe_rtenews page does not load in XP with IE

I'm running typo3 3.8.0, fe_retnews 1.3.1, tt_news 2.2.24, and rtehtmlarea
0.6.1 and it works fine on IE. I imagine the problem lies with rtehtmlarea.
