[TYPO3] Typo3 4.0rc2 Extension Manager: Retrieve/Update Fatal Error

Hi all,
I have a new install of Typo3 4.0rc2 on a Linux shared server with no  
shell access.
I am trying to get the list of available extensions from the new  
mirrored repository system.
Extension Manager Menu > Settings are:
Security Settings > Enable unsupported extensions > checked
User Settings > I put in my username and password for the main Typo3  
repository.
Mirror selection > Enter mirror list URL: set to: http:// 
repositories.typo3.org/mirrors.xml.gz
Mirror list > Random (recommended!)
Then I selected: Update settings button.

I then changed the Extension Manager Menu to > Import extensions
Pressed > Retrieve/Update
Then I get this fatal error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 83886080 bytes exhausted (tried  
to allocate 131072 bytes) in /home/mysite/www/typo3_src-4.0rc2/typo3/ 
mod/tools/em/class.em_index.php on line 1423

A compressed xml file is created in typo3temp/ called:  
extensions.xml.gz is 472K.

The phpinfo(): PHP Version 5.1.2
			memory_limit set to 80MB,
			upload_max_filesize set to 20 MB

Any help would be appreciated.
