[Typo3] fe_rtenews email address for Anonymous

I've noticed that when an anonymous visitor submits a news item using  
fe_rtenews that the preview has the word Anonymous linked to the  
submitted email address, but, once the news item is submitted the  
email address doesn't appear to be recorded anywhere in the back end.

I realize it may seem a bit inconsistent to be anonymous yet have an  
email address, but, since the field is there and it appears to work  
in the preview it would be nice if all of the submitted information  
made it to the back end.

Does anyone know if this is a configuration problem on my part, or,  
just the intended functionality of the extension?
