[Typo3] page advanced - stop date

Hi Elmar - seems would be give a nice extension. But before I´m able to 
write such an extension one more basic question :) . I´ve never used the 
stop date before. What happens to pages if they reach the stop date. Do 
they silently dissapear - or are they stored anywhere else?
