[Typo3] Problems with tt_news single view popup image

I've found the solution to my problem and it seems it may not be  
related to yours Pedro.

First I found that my installation of typo3 was missing the  
showpic.php files. Doh!

Second, I had a problem with the convert command (resize) timing out  
on my server. I was running ImageMagick 6.0.6 and it was taking  
27,1179 ms to process the "scaling" page (a sub page of the Typo3  
install section of the back end). I downloaded the source for  
ImageMagick 6.2.4 compiled with the default configuration except for  
the install path and I disabled perl and now it takes 667 ms to  
process the scaling page! Wow!!!
