[Typo3] How do you change Email Subject labels in sr_feuser_register?

Have you tried overriding the locallang processing with Typoscript?

I'm successfully using Typoscript like the following in the setup 
section of my template...
plugin.tx_srfeuserregister_pi1._LOCAL_LANG.default {
   v_registration_updated_subject = Your profile has been updated.
}

This should work for anything in locallang. Hope that helps :)
