Why not make use of the mountain of information on Typo3.org when you
have questions? [1]

*IF* you really have duplicates, then you have used the zip package.
In this case, you can't delete any files since they're there for a
reason (did you really need to be told this?) If you have installed
one of the tar.gz packages then there are no duplicates, they're
symlinks...make a change to a 'duplicated' file, and you'll see it in
both places.
