[Typo3] Using Pagecontent type "Image" with PDF

Hello,

I found a very nice way to display PDF documents without using a plugin.
Selecting type "Image" allows to define a PDF document, which gets converted
and displayed as a JPG image.
Unfortunately this only works with the first page.
Moreover, the images particularly contain gray pixel noise, especially
behind text portions.

Does anyone have experience with this and found a solution to the above
mentioned problems?
