[Typo3] Is ImageMagick necessary for Typo3?

I think it depends on what kind of site are you designing and the skill 
of editors that will manage content for this site.
Just think to the automatic creation of a thumbanail. Says that in the 
site you are designing editor can insert pictures ( big pictures ) in 
the articles. Surely they will not insert the big-giga-mozipicture in 
the article text because it will cause a layout mess. So they need to 
insert a thumb version of the picture and make it "clickable" to open 
the original bug picture. So they need to create manually this thumb by 
a an image processing software, and link it manually by editor.
With Imagemagick or Grapchismagick you can do it automatically by 2 or 3 
click. Also it help to hav control on article layout and site layout.
