[Typo3] BE data not in FE

I have a site where the content in a text object in the BE is not the same
as the content displayed.
In the FE the text displayed is the text existing before an editing session.


Thus:
Open text object, edit text.
Save and close.
View in browser - still old text displayed.
Empty FE cache.
Update page in browser
View in browser - still old text displayed.
View in another browser - still old text displayed
Empty all cache in BE
Update page in browser
View in browser - still old text displayed.
View in another browser - still old text displayed
Delete all text in text object
Empty FE cache
Update page in browser
View in browser - still old text displayed.
View in another browser - still old text displayed
Screem, hit the screen go take a coffee break
Update page in browser
View in browser - still old text displayed.
View in another browser - still old text displayed

WTF?
