I live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA and run three small (maybe
mini) sites with Typo3. I've had several people ask me why I don't
use Mambo. When I was looking for a CMS I didn't have any names in
mind and my research directed me toward Typo3 due to its versatility.
Also, at the time Typo3 had the best web site for finding and getting
the system up and running. However, the real learning curve started
just after the install and has been very steep.
Typo3 has loads of documentation, perhaps too much because it can be
hard to find an answer in the mountains of information. The english
mailing list archives are a great asset.

I have received a few replies to my posts. What I struggle with is
understanding Typo3 and the best way to do things. I'm not
complaining because it is all free. But, I've often wondered how to
break into the community.
I want to contribute to the community, but, the learning curve has
been so long. I never thought it would take this long and I'm no
where near being able to contribute an extension. I am only working
on this in my spare time though.
Cheers,
Eric
