[Typo3] PNG CSS background-image in typo3

Does anybody know a nice hack for using png background images through CSS in 
typo3.

I tried including a js in my header. But in typo3 those if - tags seem to be 
ignored when using templavoila? or am I wrong?

statements fall out when Adding parts from HTML header.
