[Typo3] Clean up unused data in database

All of a sudden my site stopped working, pages couldn't be  generated... 
very weird. Then only once I saw in the backend on the top that there was a 
sql error somewhere in the ee_blog extension ?!?! Never seen that comment 
again.
Now my question is , is there a way to let typo3 clean up the database, but 
only clean up unused elements...without having to go into php/myadmin and 
clean every table manually...?
I have also some other sites running on the same installation which keep on 
functioning properly, so I don't want to start all over...

By the way, this ee_blog extension has caused errors more than once...
