[Typo3] Backend links

Hi:

I'm new to Typo3. I installed it via the 1-2-3 and all went smoothly  
until I tried to use the backend links. None of them work. I trashed  
the install, dumped the database and tried again. Same thing. I have  
Javascript turned on on my machine. I don't know what to do. All the  
menus in the back end can open and close; it's just the links that  
are inoperative. Thanks.
