[Typo3] Did not understood the CASE CObject

Hi,

i'm trying to build a typo3script object that has some parts changing 
based on a case-conditions set.

I browsed the tsref seraching info for CASE but the info i found are not 
clear and they are too much short. The same in the Typo3 book, only less 
than half page for the CASE CObject.

Can you explain me how the CASE works and what's is the meaning of the 
sintax ?
You can skip the part about the generic CASE function/use, i already 
know it in php and C++. What i'm not able to understand is the CASE in 
Typoscript ^_^
