[Typo3] PHP 4.4.1 incompatible?

Looks like it's a problem, but only with Apache 2.x and not even every porting. 
Reported on Debian, where one in thread had no problem. He had compiled the 
PHP himself, not used a port. A suggestion is that mod_rewrite is part of 
the problem. Other point out a bug in Apache2Handler as reason. I have PHP 
4.4.1 running on Apache 1.3.33 without any problem. Also on Drupal list the 
problem is noticed.
