[Typo3] What is tt_content?

This is correct. Using that TS, you select records from this table to
display them on page. "pidInList = this" tells that only records from
tt_content belonging to the current page should be selected.

You may need to check if you have content.default selected in the "edit
page header".

Navigate to Template on the right frame, than on the very left top
select "TypoScript Object Browser". There you can find all TS objects
that you use on the current page from the page tree.
